Yesterday I e-mailed a group of friends, letting them know that I wrote a book and that it's available on Amazon. Almost immediately I started receiving feedback and that orders were coming in.
How much fun is this?!

Books have arrived!
A couple of weeks ago when I approved the final proof of my book, "The Misadventures of Belle & Chloe", I was given the option of buying a box of books for my own personal use. Since I knew I would need several books that friends wanted signed, as well as a few books that I was giving away, I went ahead an purchased a case (74). Well, the case arrived on Christmas Eve and it was as if Santa had arrived early. It was just too cool opening that box and seeing my book. What an unbelievable feeling!
Then, I decided to go to Amazon.com to see if my book information had been loaded, and lo and behold, there it was! To see my own book on Amazon.com was truly amazing. The book isn't officially released for sale until January 1st, and once they open the gates, it's going to be a wild ride. I can't wait to let my friends know that 'Belle & Chloe' is finally available for purchase.
I'll keep you posted.

Proof was perfect
I received my book's proof last night from my publisher and no changes needed to be made...so we're good to go. I understand that "The Misadventures of Belle and Chloe" will be available to the public on 1/1/09.
This is just too cool.

Belle and Chloe's Book is Almost Here
About a year ago I decided to write this book about our two Labs, and finally, earlier this week, I submitted my finished cover and completed text to my publisher, The Wild Icon Publishing Group. Today I was told that I should receive a proof of my book within a few days, and after that, I suppose printing is in order. I've never authored a book before, so this is really exciting.
I'll keep you posted.

Welcome to my blog
Hi guys...
Well, this is my first blog and I hope I know what I'm doing. As most of you did when you first discovered blogging, you kind of learn on the fly...so be gentle with me.
Just a little about me and this blog: I'm a former high school teacher and principal here in Plano...which is a suburb just north of Dallas. I was in education for almost 20 years, but for the past 18 years I've been with Jostens (we're the yearbook and ring people). I've been married to my wife, Cathy, for almost 40 years and our house is run by two chocolate Labs...Belle and Chloe. And these two insane dogs are the reason for this blog.
Last Christmas I wrote a bunch of short stories about Belle and Chloe, and I gave them to Cathy for Christmas. Over the next few months dozens of friends, relatives, former students, co-workers...you name 'em...well, they told me I should write a book about the two dogs. And that's what I did. It's already in my publisher's hands, and hopefully by the first of the year, it'll be available at my website (http://www.belleandchloe.com/) and at Amazon. And this blog will not only be about Belle and Chloe, but some of the blogs will probably be written by Belle (just like in the book).
Rest assured my future blogs will be much shorter than this one, but I felt I needed to give you a bit of background before I start this journey. I hope you all enjoy it. DW

The first post

As the webmaster for Belle & Chloe, I would like to introduce "The Mister," who will be our main blogger. If you have not read the book "The Misadventures of Belle & Chloe" then I highly suggest you read it as soon as you can. You will of course want to make sure that when reading it you are not drinking anything that is of a heated nature (hot coffee, hot tea, hot toddy) as there are many times as you read that you will be laughing so hard as to spill this all over yourself.
To order a copy of the book please stop by our website at www.belleandchloe.com or do a search for the book at Amazon.com.
And come back often to read more as "The Mister" takes over the writing duties and entertains you with the further adventures of Belle & Chloe.
